A native of Roanoke Rapids knowledgeable of the area and community
Worked as a computer programmer in Richmond, VA, for several years, some of that time working as a private contractor with Philip Morris, Southern States and several banks.  Retired from Roanoke Rapids Schools after 30 years with the Exceptional Children’s Program.  Experience with the school teachers, parents and children created a deep and abiding respect for our schools and those who strive to bring life experiences to our children preparing them to be responsible citizens.  Involved with community and civic activities with a very special love for local Relay for Life.  Member of First Christian Church and has been Sunday School teacher, choir member and secretary to the church board.  Member of Chamber of Commerce supporting all aspects of programs and opportunities to bring growth and success to our businesses and the local leadership.

Mother of two grown sons, both graduates of UNC-Chapel Hill.  Two granddaughters, my reward after raising two sons.
