Ann is a native of Williamston, NC and has lived in Enfield for over thirty years. A graduate of St. Mary's College in Raleigh and East Carolina University, Ann had a rewarding career in education in the area schools, Halifax Community College and recently retired from Edgecombe Community College. She is married to Elton Newbern and together they have three children and two grandchildren. She is involved in her church, her community and loves spending time with her family and friends. Ann especially enjoys traveling with trips to the beach being her favorite destination.
Ann lives on her family farm in her Mother's homeplace, Rose Hill, which is over 200 years old. The major home restoration gave Ann an additional apprecation for the historic significance of Halifax County.
